Employee performance checks are being carried out at Vilnius Prison, announces the Lithuanian Prison Service (LKT).
During the inspections, cases were identified where decisions were made that created more favorable conditions for convicts, although, based on initial assessment, there was not sufficient legal basis for such decisions according to the provisions of the Penal Enforcement Code.

The heads of the Security Management and Resocialization Departments of Vilnius Prison have been tasked with re-evaluating the identified decisions, their justification and legality, correcting them if necessary, and strengthening the control over the adoption of such decisions, according to a statement published by LKT on Thursday.
