Works will be carried out at night, from 8 PM to 6 AM, on an approximately 3 km long section from Žirnių Street towards Savanorių Roundabout.

Only those manholes whose covers are most worn out due to heavy traffic loads will be repaired. Since the work will be done on one manhole at a time, traffic restrictions will only apply at the specific work site. Temporary road signs limiting the permitted vehicle speed to 50 km/h will also be placed there.
“We carry out these works preventively, while the condition of the manhole covers does not yet cause major problems. This way we can avoid unexpected failures in the future and ensure safer traffic on one of the busiest streets in Vilnius,” says Vilius Ankėnas, head of the surface sewage networks group at Grinda.
Tūkstantmečio Street is one of the most important transport arteries in Vilnius, connecting the southern part of the city with the center and the western part of the city.
