It is reported that the 31-year-old tennis player provided a doping sample on June 22. After thorough investigations, it was found that traces of a cocaine metabolite were detected in his body.

After that, N. Kyrgios was temporarily suspended.
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced that the Australian can appeal the temporary suspension, but has not done so yet.
On his Instagram account, N. Kyrgios admitted to making a “huge mistake” and stated that he takes “full responsibility.”

- Currently, he is 906th, which is the lowest position in his career.
During the suspension period, N. Kyrgios cannot play, coach, or attend Grand Slam tournaments and other events organized by ATP and WTA.
The 31-year-old tennis player has played only four singles matches this season, and in recent years he has been troubled by knee and wrist injuries.

He last played in the Wimbledon men’s doubles tournament, where he and Alexander Bublik were eliminated in the first round.
Cocaine is classified as a stimulant and abuse substance on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list.
Athletes whose samples contain this substance outside of competition may face milder sanctions.
However, N. Kyrgios’s sample was taken during the tournament. In Mallorca, the Australian played singles and lost in the first round to Adam Walton.
