The first speeder of the week was recorded on August 15 at about 00:55 on T. Masiulis Street in Kaunas, when a “Ducati” motorcycle, driven by a man born in 1990, was speeding at 140 km/h where the maximum speed limit is 50 km/h.
BMW drivers were also speeding at nearly the same speed last week.
On August 13 at about 23:10 on the same T. Masiulis Street in Kaunas, a BMW driver born in 2006 was driving at 136 km/h, although the maximum allowed speed in this place is 50 km/h.
On August 15 at about 23:00, two more BMW drivers born in 2003 and 2000 were recorded on A. Juozapavičius Avenue in Kaunas, who were speeding at 123 km/h and 134 km/h respectively instead of the allowed 50 km/h.
Administrative offense protocols were drawn up for the drivers.
Last week, Road Police officers continued to carry out police measures aimed at identifying drunk drivers and other traffic violations. During these, police officers checked over 7.2 thousand vehicles.
In total, last week in Kaunas County, police officers identified 28 drunk drivers, 15 drivers who drove vehicles without the right to do so, and as many as 121 drivers who used mobile communication devices while driving.
