The European arrest warrant is related to a crime committed in Lithuania in 2017. According to data provided by the Spanish police, the man was detained in Lithuania at that time while transporting nearly 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine. The European arrest warrant issued for his search has been valid since 2023.

It is reported that the man could face up to 15 years in prison in Lithuania for the crime he is accused of.

The detention in Alicante also did not go without incident. According to police data, while already in the custody of officers, the man tried to escape – he forcefully pushed one of the police officers guarding him, who fell down. The man tried to reach the exit but was stopped.
