The priest was given a preventive measure – a written promise not to leave.
R. Peciunas is accused of possessing pornographic materials depicting a child or a person presented as a child. Such a crime is punishable by a fine or restriction of liberty, or arrest, or imprisonment for up to four years.

The same charge has been brought against another person in this case.
The public broadcaster LRT portal reported on Friday that the charge was brought against R. Peciunas’s acquaintance Barbara Leščevska, who is not connected to the church.
As BNS wrote, this week law enforcement announced that a case was transferred to the Vilnius District Court, in which another priest is accused of sexual crimes against 11 minors.
According to law enforcement data, 34 criminal episodes were recorded, crimes committed over 23 years – from 2002 to 2025.
Neither the prosecutor’s office nor the Vilnius Archdiocese revealed the identity of the clergyman, while according to media data, the 56-year-old clergyman Tadas Švedavičius, ordained a priest on June 29, 2001, is accused of crimes against minors.

The date for the hearing of T. Švedavičius’s case has not yet been set.
