According to initial data, the man was walking with a friend and climbed onto the bridge railings. It is suspected that he may have been intoxicated.

After the man slipped and fell into the river, he was carried away by a strong current near the dam. People who witnessed the incident reported the accident to the General Emergency Number 112.
The first police officers to arrive at the scene directed the firefighters to the place where the current had carried the man. He was spotted near the shore and pulled out of the water.

Since the man showed no signs of life, the firefighting team led by shift leader Vidmantas Bagdon immediately started resuscitation. It was successful – the man’s life was saved.
The victim was handed over to medical personnel and taken to the hospital.
