The third round of the UEFA Conference League clash between the Vilnius and Split teams began a week ago, when the guests from Croatia hosted at the “Žalgiris” home stadium, securing a convincing 5:2 victory.

So, in order to continue their international journey this summer, Žalgiris must win away by at least a three-goal margin.
It may seem like an impossible mission, but Žalgiris has already created such a miracle this summer, when after returning with a three-goal deficit from Georgia, they crushed Tbilisi’s Dinamo club at home 7:2.
“It was a miracle, and such things don’t happen often. Hajduk is a completely different team. Now saying that we expect another miracle would be difficult. I watched the match and I know who we are playing against. Miracles sometimes happen, but mostly when they are not expected,” said Žalgiris head coach Andrius Skerla on the eve of the match.

The winners of this pair will compete in the fourth qualifying round against Rakow Czestochowa (Poland) or Hammarby Stockholm (Sweden). The first match between these teams ended in a 0:0 draw.
The team that loses the Hajduk and Žalgiris clash will end their international season.
