A case of physical violence in a close environment was recorded on Tuesday (August 11) in Šilutė.
In the afternoon, officers were called to a gardeners’ association on the southeastern outskirts of the city, which has turned into a residential area of individual houses.
Help was needed for a minor child injured at home.
At about 14:53, a 41-year-old woman caused physical pain to an eleven-year-old at home.
According to VE.LT data, the perpetrator is the minor’s stepmother.
The woman has official guardian status for the boy.
The authorities do not report that the injured child required medical assistance.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched against the woman at the Šilutė District Police Commissariat for causing physical pain by beating or otherwise abusing a minor.
This crime is punishable by community service or restriction of liberty, or arrest, or even imprisonment for up to three years.
