As 15min informed, the Kaunas Fire and Rescue Department received a report at 13:08 from a passerby that grates on the roadway were broken, gas was leaking, and possibly a car had driven into it.

Road asphalt repair works have been underway at this location for some time, and traffic is restricted by road workers’ posts.
The Kaunas County Police received the incident report at 13:13. It was informed that the gas pipeline was ruptured.
“Traffic is temporarily restricted,” confirmed a Kaunas County Police press representative.

By about 14:30, traffic at the incident site was already moving, and the problem was being addressed by gas emergency service representatives.
A police patrol is also on site. Meanwhile, firefighters left around 14:00.
