Poland was ravaged by another storm – it threw lightning, knocked down power poles, there are injured

According to Tvn24.pl, storms with strong gusty winds and rain and hail traveled across Poland during the night from Monday to Tuesday. Firefighters had work to do, responding to hundreds of calls.

Damage was sustained in the Mazovia and Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeships.

There was also a storm with strong thunder in Warsaw itself – the sky was even lit up by lightning.

As reported by representatives of the State Fire Service, on Monday throughout Poland they received more than 670 reports related to the effects of natural phenomena. Most reports came from the Mazovia voivodeship (471), as well as from Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Greater Poland voivodeships; firefighters also had to respond in Łódź, Wrocław, Katowice, Lublin, Kraków, Kielce, and Olsztyn.

Some of the damage caused by the natural disaster was recorded in the Lipno district in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeship, where around 8 p.m. strong winds knocked down power line poles on the road between Kikół and Wolenczyn.

According to tvn24.pl, wind gusts here could have reached nearly 28 m/s.

As warned by representatives of the Lipno volunteer fire protection forces, this was a real threat, and the road was closed.

Residents also shared photos of the fallen power line poles.

There was more wind damage in this district – firefighters received about thirty reports related to dangerous weather conditions. Most responses were due to torn-off roofs and uprooted trees.

The storm in the Mazovia voivodeship also spared neither roofs nor trees. A more serious incident occurred here when strong winds damaged a holiday cabin (the so-called Dutch house) in the Maków district, where 15 people were present. Three of them were injured and taken to the hospital.
