Nine door salons suddenly closed in Lithuania: hundreds of people left without goods and without advances

„We ordered five room doors back in February. Although the delivery date was May 18, one promise after another followed, redirecting me to write to different emails, to call. Finally, I received a letter from the manager of the company „BD Logistics“ saying that the doors will likely be in August, and they will compensate for the delay with penalties. Now neither the doors nor the money. We paid an advance of 1650 euros (50% of the door price). Very sorry for the wasted time and money,“ wrote Justina to the 15min journalist.

Similar stories were shared by other disappointed customers – more than 10 people who bought doors from three different companies belonging to businessman M. Jasevičius’s family – „BD Logistics“, „Elito durys“ and „Kambario durys“ – contacted the 15min editorial office.

However, it appears that the number of victims may reach several hundred. Doors could be ordered not only online but also in physical salons in Vilnius, Kaunas, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Marijampolė, Alytus: in total, 9 salons operated under the names „Doors123.lt“, „Kambario durys“ and „Elito durys“.

The State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (VVTAT) and the Police Department confirmed to 15min that they have received many complaints.

Meanwhile, M. Jasevičius told 15min that after analyzing the companies’ finances at the end of July, he concluded that the company can no longer operate because its assets are less than its financial liabilities. According to him, several circumstances forced the declaration of insolvency – changed payment terms by manufacturers and a 50% decrease in orders.

„I think the debts really exceed the assets twice over,“ said the owner of the door business ceasing operations. „I am really sorry that it ended this way, but don’t be angry, I don’t have a money printing machine.“

Advances reach thousands of euros

The advances paid by the affected customers who contacted 15min, range from 800 euros to 2700 euros.
