The storm that swept through over the weekend affected a fairly narrow part of Lithuania, mostly near Vilnius and in the capital itself, as well as in the Varėna district. However, in the coming days, dangerous weather precautions may be necessary throughout Lithuania.

As stated in the weather forecast published by “Meteo LT,” the chance of rain on Wednesday night is low, with some fog in places, weak wind, and temperatures reaching 14–19, locally 10–13 degrees Celsius.
However, the day will be hot. Thermometers will show 28–33 degrees Celsius. At the same time, in some places, mostly in the western districts, short rain and thunderstorms are expected. The wind will be mostly from the south, 5–10 m/s, with gusts of 15–17 m/s during thunderstorms.
“Meteo LT” has also issued a yellow warning for Vilnius, Kaunas, Alytus, Marijampolė, Tauragė, and Klaipėda counties due to dangerous weather.
Indeed, in Klaipėda county, caution is advised for thunderstorms, with the warning valid from 2026-08-05 15:00 to 2026-08-06 00:00. During thunderstorms, wind gusts in some places will reach 15-17 m/s.
In Vilnius, Kaunas, and Alytus counties, danger may arise from very high temperatures, with the warning valid on Wednesday from 9 to 21 hours.

“The highest temperature in many places will reach 30-33 °C.
Recommendations: Limit the time spent in the heat, drink plenty of water. Do not leave children and animals in cars with closed windows,” the warning states.
Marijampolė and Tauragė counties are also warned of the same heat, but dangerous thunderstorms may occur locally.
On Thursday, according to meteorologists, short rain and thunderstorms are expected in some places. The wind will be from the south, southwest, shifting to west, northwest, 4–9 m/s at night, 6–11 m/s during the day, with gusts of 15–20 m/s in some places during thunderstorms. Temperature at night 16–21 degrees Celsius, during the day 26–31, in the western edge of the country 22–25 degrees.
That day, a yellow warning is in effect throughout Lithuania for possible dangerous thunderstorms. In Marijampolė and Tauragė counties, the warning will only be valid for a few hours from 18:00 to 21:00. Elsewhere, thunderstorms may be dangerous until midnight.
According to current forecasts, on Friday there will be brief rain in some places. The wind will be from the west, 6–11 m/s at night, 8–13 m/s during the day. Temperature at night 12–17, during the day 20–25 degrees Celsius.
