After 177 kilometers of battle in the hills of Utena – „Energus“ podium and maintained leadership

The third stage of the race in Utena was one of the most challenging in the entire competition. On the 177.6-kilometer route, athletes completed three laps on a hilly course, with a total elevation gain of nearly 1000 meters. Such conditions demanded not only physical endurance but also tactical team work.

Martinšas Pluto, who fought for the top positions at the finish, showed excellent form and secured third place. This result once again confirmed the competitiveness of the “Energus” team in international-level races.

Equally important news for the team – the sprint classification leader’s jersey was retained by Estonian Raitas Armas. This is a particularly significant achievement for the athlete, who only recently returned to racing after a clavicle injury. Despite difficult stages and strong competition, he maintains the leader’s position in the sprint classification.

“The third stage in Utena once again showed that the Tour of Lithuania is not just a speed race – team work, tactics, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions play a huge role here. We see great dedication from the men, and racing at home adds an extra responsibility towards Lithuanian fans,” said Ignatas Konovalovas, head of the Energus team.

At the halfway point of the Tour of Lithuania, the Energus team remains among the most prominent participants – competing both for stage podiums and high positions in the overall standings.

The Tour of Lithuania is the largest professional-level race in the Baltic countries. The race is classified as category 2.2 by the International Cycling Union (UCI), allowing cyclists to earn ranking points that enable them to compete for spots in the World, European Championships, and even the Olympic Games. The Tour of Lithuania, held for the fourth consecutive year, consists of five stages: on Thursday, cyclists will ride around the Kėdainiai city area.

The Tour of Lithuania cycling race is partially funded by state funds administered by the National Sports Agency, as well as by the municipalities of Tauragė, Kėdainiai, Utena, Kaunas, and Vilnius.
