The Lithuanian Football Federation supports UEFA’s position and believes that decisions that could fundamentally change the future of world football must be made transparently, responsibly, and involving the entire football community.
“Today, this is not FIFA against UEFA. This is not Europe against other continents. This is a discussion about the principles on which the future of world football will be built. Football belongs to everyone – national associations, players, clubs, fans, and everyone who contributes daily to the growth of this game.
Many members of the European football community today missed broader dialogue and deeper consultations. And we share this expectation. Decisions of this scale should not be solely financial or commercial – they must primarily be football decisions, based on consensus and respect for everyone’s opinion.
We support UEFA’s position because it speaks about fundamental football principles – transparency, dialogue, solidarity, and responsibility to the entire football community. We believe that FIFA and UEFA, together with all national associations, can find a solution that will strengthen world football.
