“After carefully considering all factors with the team, we had to make the difficult decision to withdraw from the tournament in Montreal. It is not easy to miss such an important tournament, but the most important thing is to prioritize health. I really hope to return to Montreal in the future,” said Sinner.
The 24-year-old Italian will miss the Canadian Masters tournament for the second year in a row – last year he also did not appear in Toronto.
Meanwhile, N. Djokovic plans to spend more time with his family, and the 39-year-old veteran’s withdrawal should not be surprising – he has not played in Canada since 2018.

Both tennis players are expected to return to the ATP tour at the Cincinnati Masters tournament, which will be the main preparation stage before the US Open.
In Montreal, the top seed is expected to be Roland Garros champion Alexander Zverev (ATP-2), and the second seed will be Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (ATP-4), who will have a huge home crowd support.
