In the near future, the company “Infes” will begin preparatory work near the S. Darius and S. Girėnas aerodrome – demolishing abandoned structures in the demolition zone.
“We plan to start construction work at the beginning of August – first, the preparation of the work project, setting up the construction site, and territory preparation works will take place,” says Arvydas Markevičius, CEO of UAB “Infes”.
The 28-meter-high A++ energy class sports complex will consist of three floors with a basement. The 16,000 sq. m building will house a 105 m long and 68 m wide football and rugby field meeting the standards required for official matches. It will be one of the most modern sports facilities of this type in Lithuania.

The new complex will feature not only a field with artificial turf but also stands with a capacity of one thousand seats. Separate rooms will be available for athletes, referees, medical staff, and administration.

The first floor is planned to have spaces for sanitary facilities, doping control, and changing areas.
Stands for spectators and administrative rooms are planned on the second floor. Going up – a sports club with changing rooms for athletes, coaches, and Kaunas residents and city guests who enjoy an active lifestyle.
The outdoor terraces will give uniqueness to the versatile sports building. They will serve as observation decks with a scenic panorama of the Aleksotas aerodrome, providing the opportunity to watch planes taking off and landing. Access to the roof terrace will be possible by stairs and elevator.
Next to the new facility, a parking lot with nearly 185 spaces is planned, including separate spaces for buses.
Project proposals for the 3.23-hectare plot marked Europos pr. 105A were prepared by the company “Maspro”.
