As 15min already reported, on Thursday, around 2:30 PM, in Ažulaukė, Vilnius district, a “BMW 116” car, driven by a girl born in 2007, while overtaking a “Ford Galaxy” car, drove into the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming “MAN TGA 26.350” truck (garbage truck) and hit the “Ford Galaxy” car.

As it turned out, the girl was a recent high school graduate who had just successfully finished school and was returning home after the awards ceremony for the best graduates of the capital, which took place at Vilnius City Hall – she even received the highest marks, “hundreds,” in five maturity exams.
It was announced on the day of the accident that the girl most likely drove into the oncoming lane while trying to overtake other cars. There, she crashed directly into the oncoming garbage truck.
According to tv3.lt, citing a TV3 “Žinios” report, the truck driver says that the BMW allegedly tried to overtake several cars.

“There was a column of cars there, I don’t know what she was thinking – she jumped out of the column and straight into me,” the garbage truck driver recounted.

The man states that he tried to brake, but it was simply too late. The impact was extremely strong, and the truck overturned onto its side into the roadside.
Firefighters pulled the girl out of the mangled BMW, but paramedics who arrived at the scene could not save her – she died in the ambulance.
