Žalgiris players defeated Vilnius district’s “TransINVEST” at home 3:1 (2:0).
The first goal of the match came in the 23rd minute. Stanislav Bilenkyi, a bit above the penalty area, deceived the opponent with a misleading move and made an accurate low shot into the bottom left corner of the goal (1:0).
The Vilnius team doubled the score in the 41st minute. Marko Capanas made a very sharp pass to Dominik Franka near the penalty area. He sent the ball in one touch towards Nikola Petković, and the Serbian, standing directly in front of the goal, did not miss (2:0).
After the break, the Vilnius team continued their efforts. In the 50th minute, Ivan Lytvynenko made a pass from the corner flag, and Nikola Petković was completely alone in the penalty area. He headed the ball into the goal and secured a double (3:0).
The somewhat calmed “Žalgiris” players had to wake up in the 69th minute. Mykola Musolitin broke through on the right flank and passed to Stefan Milosevic. The Montenegrin scored with a powerful shot, disarming Vincentas Šarkauskas and reducing the “TransINVEST” deficit (1:3).

90+2 min. S. Bilenkyi received a second yellow card for hitting an opponent in the face, which turned into a red card. The Ukrainian had to leave the field.
However, this was the last goal of the match, and the Vilnius team will enter the second stage of the Conference League on a high note. Now they will face the local “Dynamo” in Tbilisi on July 23.
Meanwhile, “TransINVEST” will play at home against Telšiai’s “Džiugas” on July 26.
After these matches, “Žalgiris” has 31 points in the Top League and ranks third. They are only three points behind the first place.
The Vilnius district team has 29 points and is in 6th place.
