The trial dragged on considerably. Initially complaining of poor health, later the defendants began to file recusals. Nothing was satisfactory: the indictment, the prosecutor, the judge.
The brothers were arrested in the fall of 2022 (R. Venslauskas was released on January 23, 2024, M. Venslauskas on February 1, 2024), but their court interrogations were finally scheduled only for April 2025.

On July 16, 2026, the case was finally concluded – the verdict of the Kaunas District Court was announced.
