A Lithuanian imprisoned for spying for Belarus is believed to have become a victim of racketeering: it was even necessary to transfer him to another prison

In this criminal case being heard at the Kaunas branch of the Kaunas District Court, R. Agrba, well known to law enforcement, is accused of extortion, allegedly committed while serving a prison sentence at Pravieniškės Prison No. 2.

According to the case data, R. Agrba is accused of demanding the victim M. Danielius to hand over the sum of 1500 euros in September and October 2025, acting intentionally and seeking to unlawfully obtain financial gain.

The demanded amount was linked to three mobile phones allegedly found and seized during a police search. It was suspected that M. Danielius informed the officers about the hiding places.

According to the case data, to force the victim to comply with the demand, the accused allegedly threatened to use physical violence, cause health damage, or take life, and also threatened to organize retaliation using other people.

R. Agrba also allegedly threatened to worsen the victim’s position in the informal hierarchy of prisoners by transferring him to a lower caste, which, according to the indictment, could have increased the risk of physical and psychological violence. It is believed that on September 20-21, 2025, R. Agrba continued to systematically exert psychological pressure on the victim M. Danielius, repeating threats and recounting previously committed violent acts against other people.
