Yesterday at about 18:36, the General Emergency Center received a nervous call from a resident, the caller hurried to hang up. However, the GEC representatives conveyed the essence of the message to the officers of the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat: that in Elektrėnai municipality, Pastrėvis, some man is possibly intending to commit suicide. And he has a weapon.

Upon arrival at the specified location, the man (born in 1987), who was found to have a blood alcohol level of 2.85‰, pointed a “Bersa Thunder 9 Pro” pistol at the officers of the Elektrėnai Police Commissariat in the yard of the residential house and kept it aimed until the officers disarmed him.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the incident under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania.

The police remind that resistance to a statutory state official, threats, or violence against officers is a criminal offense. Such actions are punishable by a fine, restriction of liberty, arrest, or imprisonment for up to three years.

This year, from January to April, 31 pre-trial investigations were initiated in Lithuania for resistance to officers, and 91 throughout the entire year of 2025. The police urge residents to respect the work of officers and remind that aggressive actions against officers entail criminal liability.
